Stage Management

Kent is an Actors' Equity Association stage manager and has worked on cruise ships, theme parks, resident theatres, and even on a moving train! He has worked with casts as large as 80 and as small as 4, with productions running as long as 174 performances, as well as one night showcases and cabarets.

SEVEN SEAS MARINER

Install Prod. Stage Manager • Norwegian Creative Studios

  • Managed cast of 12.

  • Facilitated all rehearsals for all four production shows aboard the Seven Seas Mariner, including Blazing Boots, Tuxedo, Broadway in Concert, and the Mariner premiere of Divos and Divas. 

  • Served as primary liaison between Tampa rehearsal team, shipboard management, and designers working remotely.

  • Coordinated and ran install aboard the Seven Seas Mariner.

HOWL O SCREAM

Swing Stage Manager • Busch Gardens Williamsburg

  • Coordinated Inventory of Radios, Tools, and Greenroom Supplies for all venues

  • Streamlined and updated paperwork/handouts for all 300+ performers for the entire event to improve communication of safety and production/operations protocol

  • Served as interim stage manager for Axe AlleyFool's Court, and France DJ

  • Learned Stage Manager tracks for all 6 haunted houses, 7 scare zones, and 2 escape rooms

  • Coordinated and oversaw Kronos timekeeping and performance tracking of all direct reports

  • Substitute for each area's primary SM as needed to cover for conflicts and call outs.

  • Provide breaks for primary stage managers each event night.

  • Attendance tracking for performer records and retention bonus.

SPARK

Stage Manager • Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Director: Allen Wheaton

  • Managed cast of 16 and crew of 7. 

  • Coordinated safe execution of show, including use of 7 high-powered lasers and approximately $2500 worth of pyrotechnics per show. 

  • Created and maintained crew schedule for the 8 week run.

  • Managed payroll with Kronos timekeeping system.

  • Tested and operated all audio systems in the venue.

  • Implemented contingencies for high wind, rain, and lighting to ensure safety of the cast, crew, audience, and venue. 

  • Trained swing stage manager on safe and correct operation of show.

  • Called shows in the run's final weekend while PSM was out. 

THE POLAR EXPRESS TRAIN RIDE

Production Stage Manager • Warner Brothers & Royal Palm Railway

Director: Joshua Blake

  • Managed 80 cast members

  • Coordinated catering, train operations, and show operations

  • Created and maintained schedule for 80 performers for a 174 show run

  • Coordinated all rehearsals

  • Called show that travels between three performance locations - Pre-show theatre, on board show, and North Pole dance number

  • Cross-trained performers and trained replacements

  • Created and implemented contingencies for cut shows, rain, train failure, and tornadoes

  • Learned track with 12 hours notice, without previously working on the show in any capacity.

  • Reworked and updated run paperwork to reflect changes since opening night

  • Tracked all scenery and properties

  • Preset all props, scenery, and costumes

  • Generated shift sheets and managed all transitions between scenes

  • Managed changeover between Night One and Night Two (two unique, full-length shows performed in rep)

  • Also a full time performer in the show. 

 

TRIPLE ARTS 2018

  • Full title: Lead Resident Assistant/Stage Management Apprentice

  • Two week intensive for high school and college students.

  • Managed 45 performers, 3 choreography apprentices, and 3 Resident Assistants.

  • Coordinated rehearsals in four different studio spaces

  • Tracked blocking for 23 production numbers

  • Coordinated properties and scenic preset.

  • Organized separate “Scene To Song” showcase with 20 scenes and songs featuring all 45 performers.

  • Coordinated housing for participants and guest artists.

  • Full time participant in the show itself.

  • Choreographed a tap number for the show.
