ABOUT ME!
Kent James Collins is a freelance performer and stage manager based out of the Central Florida area. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance from the University of Central Florida and is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.
As a performer, Kent has worked for companies such as Universal Orlando Resort and Warner Brothers. In 2017, his performance in Theatre UCF's production of Of Thee I Sing garnered him a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical from the Orlando Sentinel.
As a stage manager, he has worked at theme parks, regional theatres, and cruise ships across the country and around the world. He thrives in unfamiliar and fast paced environments, and has facilitated a wide variety of productions- including outdoor pyrotechnics shows and musicals on a moving train!
In addition, Kent has served as a director, lighting designer, fight choreographer, puppeteer, and makeup designer. He is also the creator of the viral Overdone Musical Theatre Medley, and his YouTube channel Half Hour Call is dedicated to making technical theatre training more accessible. He is passionate about arts education in public schools, and has taught workshops, adjudicated for theatre competitions, and assisted in with many youth and high school productions.
Outside of theatre, Kent is an avid escape room enthusiast, having escaped over 70 rooms throughout the southeastern United States. He also enjoys baking, and baked his aunts' wedding cake in June 2017!
